How can we cultivate a kind of fierce spirit that meets life’s challenges and resources us in times of uncertainty – from a clear, steady center with moment-by-moment attention?
This is the spirit of Nio, the fierce guardians of wisdom (see photos below). One guardian has an open mouth as he inhales, “Ah.” The other has a closed mouth as he exhales, “Um.” Together, these sounds represent our first and last breaths, the beginning and the end of all things. This is known as A-Un in Japanese or Om in Sanskrit.
Join us on Sunday, December 22, at 1-2:15 pm CT (8-9:15 pm CET) when Heather Meikyo Scobie Roshi and Rebecca Yakumei Ryan Roshi will share perspectives and exercises to help you cultivate the spirit of Nio. You can register here and use the same link to join this and future Fresh Talks.
